Contemporary interior design is modern in spirit, but it should not be disordered with the interior design and architecture style of ‘modern’, which was a style presented in the central of the century and is often called ‘mid-century modern’. Modernism is different from contemporary design and architecture but since the word ‘modern’ has become identical with ‘contemporary’ in ordinary talk, there is often lots of mix-up between the two styles. If you’d choose to see humble, functional design and architecture, with lots of right angles and machine-produced resources, then choose the Mid-century style. If you love contemporary kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms with gloss, glass and curves, stick with contemporary.
